Statement
Colour moves. It vibrates. I want to communicate with it, dig up ancient, unknowable forces, and slow down: my abstract paintings aim to be meditative, creating patterns brought about through chance. I experiment with alchemy by mixing pigments with different chemicals causing it to break down. Colour can spread like fractals, and crystals can form on the surface of the canvas. Using bleach as a medium to incise signs and symbols like stamps, I am interested in the nature of ‘origins’ - how sites of erasure and deletion mark moments of creation and life.
